We don’t like to brag, but since you asked…

Dohop is occasionally featured in newspapers, on various websites and blogs, and on other media outlets. We try to keep track of everything but sometimes it’s just too much. We also send out the occasional press release to our friends, and if you’d like to be one of those people, we can add you to the list if you send us email to press@dohop.com.

The boiler plate

The boring standard text at the end of a press release explaining in a concise way what a company is and does is sometimes called the “boilerplate”. This is ours:

Dohop is a technology company in the travel industry. Dohop was founded in 2004 as a website to find connecting flights with low cost airlines. The Dohop.com flight search engine can find routes and prices for nearly every airline in the world, as well as nice hotels and rental cars. Dohop also offers enterprise solutions for airline and airport websites, in the form of customized verisons of the Dohop.com flight search.

The logo

Our logo, in case you need it in giant form to create a billboard you’d like to give us, is available in high-res format. If you’d like to make changes to the logo before using it, please try to resist the urge, and at least let us know.

The stories

NY Times’ Frugal Traveler

The Frugal Traveler blog on the NY Times website did a simple comparison test in 2009 and found us to be the winners along with Bing. A lot has changed of course, but we are eternally grateful.

“The winners of this probably meaningless test? Dohop and Bing, both of which placed me on that Cathay flight for $448, to be booked directly through Cathay’s site. In this case, a little bit of extra searching would save me $55. Oh, and 17 cents.”

Arthur Frommer

Arthur likes us a good bit and he’s recommended us more than once on his blog and in his talks all over the world. He is a seasoned traveller and the founder of the fabled Frommer’s Travel Guides.

“And now, another of those tiny companies — this time Dohop.com (www.dohop.com) of Iceland — is periodically improving on the results of our big-time aggregators headquartered in the U.S.A.”

More links

There’s really too much stuff to show complete information, but here are some more links to reviews of Dohop. Some are simply news outlets that paid attention to us, others are paid reviews where we’ve commissioned bloggers to review our site honestly for a small fee.
